Probate is the administrative process to close out a deceased person’s estate which entails paying their bills, and distributing their property to their heirs. 

An heir is a person who is legally entitled to the inheritance of the decedent which could be spouse, children, parents, siblings, uncles or aunts etc.

A Personal Representative is someone who makes executive decisions to make sure the decedent’s debts are paid and assets are distributed to the heirs. Contact us so we can show you how to become the personal representative or the executor of the estate.

The Personal Representative will need to report all assets to the Registers of Wills. The property will then be distributed according to the Will or Maryland probate law.

Yes, depends if the estate is small or regular. If it’s a small estate the maximum fee is $150 and is paid upfront. If the estate is regular, the fees start at $150 and it does not have to be paid up front.
